A birthday surprise

I work away most of the time from my family- my incredible daughters and my amazing honey wife Carey. While working full time on an Amazon series, as well as editing Carey’s cabaret performances into one show, I put this treat together. From a windowless first floor apartment in Greenpoint, Brooklyn I was AIRBnBing for 2 weeks, convenient to my job at the time. With only a short time to do it, I facebooked her friends and got them all to send in videos.

I learned here that a surprise birthday video or any video that celebrates someone, is more than a string of videos lined up put to music. There is a special bond that brings them all together, and that is the person being honored. The gift are the people sending the videos, the giver of the gift is the one who put it all together, and the wrapping to that gift is all the fun and touch of heart that is added through video editing that makes it more than a montage.
